Balliliesk International Ltd. was founded by Mrs.
Edyth Lynne Graham, a BA (Hons), BEd graduate
from the University of Toronto. Lynne developed
Balliliesk International Ltd. from the many years of
experience gained in Public Relations, as a
teacher and a mother. Over the years, she has
acted as an Educational Consultant to students
from all over the world – The Americas, Eastern &
Western Europe, Japan, China and Africa.
The company we know today, developed as an idea after Lynne moved to Europe with her family.
The concept of “the complete package” for parents looking to educate their children abroad
stemmed from Lynne’s own life experience. A mother of four, Lynne’s children have all benefited from
the unique experience of living abroad, as well as a private education both overseas and within the
United Kingdom. Lynne was keen to promote the merit of overseas education to others.
Starting initially with only a handful of students over the vacation periods, Lynne embarked on
teaching English as a Foreign Language. From her own children’s experience, living with international
students facilitated their own confidence in speaking foreign languages and further developed their
social skills. As such, languages and travel have become an integral part of their lives today.
From this point, Lynne progressed to acting as a Vice Principal to a summer school in Canada. This
challenge led to a joint venture running summer schools and English language holidays for
adolescents and businessmen alike from her home in Scotland. A qualified teacher to A-Level
standard in both English and French, with experience in TEFL, IELTS and preparing students for the
Cambridge Certificate (ESOL), Lynne’s standards were high with one of her students achieving a 100%
pass on their Cambridge Certificate.
Over the years, Lynne made the transition from teaching English as a Foreign Language to
guardianship and educational consultancy for international students. At this point, Balliliesk
International Ltd. was truly born.
Lynne sadly passed away from cancer in September 2008. Her family, friends and colleagues all feel
the loss of such a spirited person. Ever enthusiastic, always with a smile, confident and caring, she has
left her mark. Her spirit lives and breathes through Balliliesk International Ltd. everyday. |
